The Sr Mechanic Maintenance role involves ensuring safe and efficient packaging production operations while contributing to continuous improvement and training within the manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary maintenance resource for packaging production operations.
  • Ensure safe working practices and contribute ideas for workplace simplification.
  • Perform trials and tests for new products and packages.
  • Assist in equipment setup and execution of line trials.
  • Document test results as directed by Engineering staff.
  • Monitor production personnel duties and motivate team members.
  • Maintain workplace organization and cleanliness practices.
  • Lead team building Kaizen events using scientific lean methodology.
  • Assist with machinery setup, sanitization verification, and repairs.
  • Document successful equipment settings and test results.
  • Evaluate quality and assist in troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Interact with various departments to expedite solutions to problems.
  • Contribute to new product launches and communicate project status.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in production maintenance in a manufacturing facility.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude for packaging machinery.
  • Ability to read and understand technical instructions and apply Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Effective communication skills to interface with internal customers and vendors.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Physical ability to stoop, crouch, kneel, and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate and assemble small objects.

  • Full-time employment
  • Work Hours: 8 hrs./day - Monday - Friday (40 hrs./week)
  • Work schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
