Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a Mold Maintenance Technician to support a busy Tooling Department at a well-established precision manufacturing company specializing in high-volume manufacturing and custom tooling. The company is committed to quality, innovation, sustainability, and long-term employee development.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on multi-cavity plastic injection molds
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, lubricate and rebuild molds
- Identify worn or damaged components and assist with repairs
- Replace springs, pins, bushings, inserts and other tooling components
- Assist Toolmakers with mold troubleshooting, repairs and modifications
- Prepare molds for production and support mold changes
- Read blueprints and use precision measuring tools
- Use basic machine tools such as lathes, mills and grinders as needed
- Maintain an organized tool room and accurate maintenance records
- Operate a sit-down forklift to move and store molds
- Follow safety and quality procedures and communicate tooling concerns
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability
- Experience with mechanical maintenance, repair, assembly or tooling preferred
- Ability to disassemble and rebuild mechanical components
- Comfortable reading blueprints and using measuring tools
- Basic machine tool experience is a plus
- Forklift experience preferred; ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift required
- Willingness to learn injection mold maintenance and tooling processes
