Overview

INEOS Styrolution is the leading producer of high-performance styrenics, providing customized solutions across various sectors. The Compounding Operator role involves safely operating the Compounding section of the ASA Plant to produce polymers that meet specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Commit to learning and practicing INEOS 20 Principles of Process and Behavioral Safety.
  • Maintain high standards of unit housekeeping per INEOS Styrolution Asset Care program.
  • Report all incidents including activations of safety critical alarms/systems or exceedances of operating envelopes.
  • Participate in incident investigations, Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis/LOPA as needed.
  • Operate within a team of 3 Operators to cover the Compounding section of the plant.
  • Complete safe work permits for the production area including field JSA for every job.
  • Report any equipment problems to Maintenance and/or Shift Supervisor.
  • Secure equipment for maintenance and return to service after maintenance is complete.
  • Monitor process to ensure the unit is performing within safe operating conditions.
  • Make rounds including safety checks, check condition of equipment, make line-ups, start and stop equipment as needed.
  • Take feed-stock and product samples to provide them to the Laboratory for analysis.
  • Actively participate in unit drills and training.
  • Execute on-shift activities for the safe operation of the plant.
  • Write and/or update operating procedures and SOC's.
  • Ensure INEOS Styrolution safe work practices and policies are maintained.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • One (1) or more years of continuous and acceptable onsite working experience; OR two (2) or more years of relevant working experience in an applicable industrial setting, refinery or gas processing plant; OR three (3) or more years of relevant working experience in a job setting which requires daily hands-on usage of skills closely reliant upon mechanical aptitude.
  • Requires a high degree of initiative and ingenuity to work with all site disciplines and departments.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of required safety regulations and standard operating procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
