Overview

Keller Technology Corporation (KTC) is a global supplier of manufacturing and engineering services, specializing in custom machinery, precision fabrication, automated systems for medical device manufacturing, and contract manufacturing. They are seeking a Welder for their Buffalo location to tackle complex engineering challenges and contribute to high-value projects.

Responsibilities

  • Read digital drawings/schematics, set up jobs, fabricate components, and weld to precise project specifications.
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and operate welding equipment across various welding processes and specialized materials.
  • Maintain required code qualifications and execute quality control checks on all self-produced parts.
  • Use shop computers to access project specs, track job hours against targets, and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Operate material handling equipment, move parts, and assist other departments like assembly when needed.
  • Work closely with welding team members to share knowledge, refine skills, and drive process improvements.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and maintain strict adherence to workplace safety protocols.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekday extensions and weekends to meet critical customer deadlines and production schedules.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on welding and fabrication experience in a custom or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Skilled in GMAW and GTAW processes across Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, with a strong emphasis on Aluminum welding.
  • Ability to pass a 6G GTAW pipe test, a 2G GMAW plate test, and meet X-Ray Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) quality standards.
  • Strong blueprint interpretation skills with proven capability in fixture preparation, precision layout, and thorough project execution.
  • High degree of project ownership, strong problem-solving skills, professional attitude, and a focus on continuous process improvement.
  • Experience welding nickel alloys like Hastelloy and Inconel is a strong plus.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Orbital Welding, Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), and Robotic Welding systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ASME Section IX code requirements, pressure vessels, and high-vacuum chamber fabrications is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED, Trade school preferred.
