Overview

MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $2 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for various industrial facilities. The Combo Pipe Welder will be responsible for joining metal components using multiple welding processes while adhering to safety requirements and project specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, weld symbols, and other written instructions.
  • Follow project specifications and Quality Control program documents.
  • Perform GTAW, SMAW, FACW, GMAW and other mixed type of welds based on project needs.
  • Field install welds including structural components and various types of pipe.
  • Select proper fillers for welding tasks based on specifications.
  • Prepare welding surfaces to achieve proper joint detail.
  • Assist pipe fitters with measurements and material preparation.
  • Work with other crafts as requested by project supervision.
  • Communicate with Foreman regarding problems, materials, or hazards.
  • Work different shifts and overtime as required.
  • Maintain accuracy standards and perform duties safely.

Requirements

  • 4+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED Certification (preferred).
  • Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy.

What you'll be running
