Overview

The Designer is responsible for developing high-quality models, drawings, and documentation for mission-critical mechanical and electrical systems in data center applications. The role involves collaboration with engineers and project teams to ensure design outputs meet customer requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D part and assembly models using SolidWorks.
  • Create mechanical designs for fabricated structures and related components.
  • Modify and improve existing designs based on engineering requirements and feedback.
  • Produce complete fabrication and assembly drawings from SolidWorks models.
  • Create and maintain accurate Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Create, revise, and maintain engineering documentation within the PDM system.
  • Work directly with manufacturing and engineering personnel to resolve design issues.
  • Follow company drawing, modeling, and documentation standards.
  • Manage multiple design assignments and communicate project status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of electrical engineering or design work.
  • 3–5 years of controls/PLC programming experience preferred.
  • 5–7 years of AutoCAD 2D design experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience with PDM systems such as Autodesk Vault preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks 3D modeling and drawing creation.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design and fabrication drawing practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Understanding of dimensional tolerancing and basic GD&T principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy.
