Overview

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking Design Engineers to work as Structural and Payload Design Engineers in El Segundo, CA, focusing on innovation and collaboration to enhance professional growth in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, interpret, and modify basic structural and payload system designs using 3-D CAD tools.
  • Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
  • Validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Manage supplier development and test and production activities.
  • Develop new design and analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies for future product designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define interfaces and develop integrated assembly designs.
  • Provide engineering support throughout fabrication, integration, and testing of structure products.
  • Develop complex equipment and tooling concepts and design solutions for the Production System.
  • Investigate emerging technologies for future product designs and vehicle integration.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, integrate, and document vehicle tooling and equipment integration workflows.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance requiring U.S. Citizenship.
  • 1+ years of experience for level 2, 3+ years for level 3, and 5+ years for level 4.
  • Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
  • Experience in Space Hardware environments, such as satellites.
  • Experience with structural engineering, payload engineering, or systems engineering.
  • Experience with composite materials and processes.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences.
