Overview

The Entry-Level Structural Engineer position at Sargent & Lundy offers an opportunity to apply knowledge in materials, structural analysis, and design within the Energy & Industrial Group. The role involves working on diverse power and industrial projects, utilizing advanced engineering tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and design.
  • Work on power, energy, and industrial projects.
  • Create calculations to develop structural document designs.
  • Prepare technical specifications.
  • Conduct structural analyses under complex loading conditions.
  • Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations.
  • Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and site assessments.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
  • Strong academic background in materials behavior, structural analysis, and design.
  • Knowledge of practical applications of structural engineering.
  • Familiarity with design techniques, tools, and principles.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
