Overview

The Fabricator is responsible for welding and fabricating components and systems that support DISA’s HPSA technology. This role works closely with engineering and operations teams to build, modify, and scale equipment from prototype through commercial deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and weld components and assemblies based on engineering designs and specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and fabrication instructions to ensure accuracy.
  • Measure, cut, and prepare materials to required specifications.
  • Assist with assembly, shakedown, and testing of fabricated systems.
  • Support the transition of equipment from R&D concepts to commercial-scale builds.
  • Inspect fabricated components to ensure accuracy, fit, and compliance with design standards.
  • Identify fabrication issues and implement practical solutions during the build process.
  • Safely operate and maintain fabrication tools, machinery, and shop equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to meet specifications and timelines.
  • Assist with the operation and deployment of DISA units as needed.
  • Abide by all policies and procedures established by DISA.
  • Attend and participate in all required safety trainings.
  • Assist with any task required by the direct supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experienced proficiency in welding, cutting, and fabrication techniques to produce high-quality work.
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work on pumps, piping, and industrial equipment.
  • Interpret and execute tasks based on technical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to troubleshoot fabrication and equipment issues.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team, supporting shared goals and fostering positive relationships.
  • Maintain professionalism with high attention to detail, reliability, accountability, and accuracy in all work deliverables.

  • Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA/MSHA and company safety standards.
  • Be a valid U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, or kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as welding, cutting, grinding, and assembly work.
  • Must be able to safely operate fabrication equipment and tools.
  • Must be able to interact with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
  • To best service our customers, all employees must be able to communicate face-to-face and on the phone with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
