Responsibilities

  • Handle welding and fitting both mild steel and stainless steel.
  • Weld parts together using gas welding or brazing and various arc welding processes.
  • Perform thermal cutting and grinding, repairing broken or cracked parts.
  • Fill holes and increase the size of metal parts.
  • Utilize both MIG and TIG welding techniques.
  • Order and receive parts and supplies as needed.
  • Adhere to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies.
  • Clean, organize and maintain the work environment for safety.
  • Wear a respirator as required.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Possess both welding and fitting skills.
  • Ability to operate an acetylene torch.
  • Read and comprehend measurements and job sheets.
  • Experience working in an industrial setting.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Welding Certificate is a plus, but not required.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
