Responsibilities

  • Build structural steel components from start to finish.
  • Read blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols.
  • Lay out, fit up, and weld pieces to specifications.
  • Work with structural steel, sheet metal, or pipe.
  • Choose the right welding process and settings for materials.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment for cutting, prepping, and finishing pieces.
  • Check work with measurement tools to ensure compliance with codes and specifications.
  • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move and position materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of structural steel welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols.
  • Experience with structural steel fabrication processes including cutting, fitting, and prep.
  • Proficient with measurement tools and basic math.
  • Familiarity with fabrication equipment and shop tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, bending, squatting, and lifting.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Regular use of hand tools, grinders, and welding equipment.
