Job Description
Overview
Merrill Steel is growing and offers excellent growth opportunities. The Welder/Fabricator role is essential to the production operation, focusing on metal-core welding and fabricating heavy structural steel products with attention to detail and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Perform metal-core welding and fabricating for heavy structural steel products.
- Lay out, position, align, and fit parts accurately.
- Ensure quality by checking fabricated pieces.
Requirements
- Pass a 2F weld test.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Able to operate grinders for around 15 hours/week.
- Experienced in power tools and forklifts (preferred).
- Able to read a tape measure.
- Have acute situational awareness.
- Able to be trained on and operate overhead cranes.
- Equipped with personal protection equipment (PPE).
- Able to lift 80 pounds.
