Job Description

Overview

The Metal Fabricator will construct various jigs and fixtures related to the manufacturing process, focusing on safety and continuous improvement. This role involves collaboration with the manufacturing engineering team to develop effective solutions for manufacturing and product launch projects.

Responsibilities

  • Construct various jigs and fixtures related to the manufacturing process.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing engineering team to research and develop solutions.
  • Develop methods to improve department operation and overall manufacturing process.
  • Weld and fabricate metal reinforcements for production molds.
  • Weld and assemble jigs and fixtures used in manufacturing.
  • Order and maintain department supplies.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Trade school or college education in welding.
  • Proficient in MIG welding.
  • Ability to research and solve production issues.
  • Familiar with metal working tools including horizontal band saw, drill press, MIG welder, iron worker, acetylene torch, pipe bender, lathe, vertical mill, and belt grinder.
  • Familiar with hi-lo, hoists, and man lift.
  • Experience with hand tools including drill, driver, tap and dies, files, grinder, and sander.
  • Knowledge of basic shop math.
  • 1-3 years experience reading blueprints.
  • Boat assembly experience is a plus.
  • TIG, pulse, and flux core welding experience is a plus.
  • Promote a safe and clean work environment.
  • Willingness to work on a team or individually.
  • Able to follow manufacturing instructions and understand processes.
  • Must practice PPE policies as mandated.
  • Must follow company safety guidelines.
  • Must be fluent in the English language.
  • Ability to work overtime as requested.
