Job Description

Overview

The Weekend Welders are responsible for welding assemblies according to shop drawings, maintaining welding equipment, and operating hand tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and offers a pay range of $18.00 to $19.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Weld assemblies per shop drawings.
  • Maintain welding equipment.
  • Use hand tools.
  • Operate a forklift and overhead crane.
  • Read a tape measure.
  • Interpret shop drawings.
  • Cut, punch, and drill material precisely.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Lift heavy objects.
  • Setup, run, and maintain welder machine.
  • Work with Fabricator to determine needed parts.
  • Follow directions.
  • Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences for professional development.
  • Participate in company training.
  • Interact well with all levels of staff and management.
  • Perform related administrative work as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Welding experience and certification preferred.
  • Must possess a current Motor Vehicle Operator's License if operating a motor vehicle.
  • Must be forklift certified.
  • Ability to address situations with accuracy and integrity.
  • Continuous learning style and ability.
  • Ability to present a professional image.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to embrace differences among employees and vendors.
  • Ability to perform essential functions without posing a health and safety threat.
  • Must be able to clearly speak, read, and write in English.
  • Knowledge of products produced by the company.
  • Knowledge of materials used.
  • Ability to identify quality issues or defects in materials.
  • Must be able to read and understand shop drawings.
  • Steel Toe Boots/Shoes are required.
