Job Description

Overview

The Maintenance Technician - Welding & Fabrication at AKER by MAAX / American Bath Group is responsible for machinery repair, structural support, and hot work in Martinsburg, West Virginia. This role requires a specialized technician to use welding and fabrication methods to restore or improve production machinery and plant equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance welding and fabrication for machinery and plant equipment.
  • Provide durable, safe repair and fabrication capability for machine components.
  • Complete approved machine repair and fabrication work to required specifications.
  • Support equipment installation and maintenance modifications.
  • Escalate code-critical work requiring engineering approval.
  • Review work orders and establish hazardous-energy control before work.
  • Measure, cut, weld, grind, and finish fabricated parts.
  • Inspect completed welds and fabrication for defects.
  • Document materials and work performed in the CMMS.
  • Assist with general maintenance needs as required.

Requirements

  • 1 year of welding experience.
  • 1 year of manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • 1 year of fabrication experience.
  • Ability to read and work from dimensions and drawings.
  • Understanding of joint preparation and safe hot-work practices.
  • Mechanical maintenance judgment related to equipment interfaces.
  • Maintain certification and qualification test status as required.
