Overview

B&I Contractors, Inc., a five-time winner of the Great Place to Work award, is seeking an experienced Pipefitter Journeyman to join Florida’s fastest-growing MEP contractor, specializing in commercial and industrial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret plans, specifications, and work instructions to complete assigned installations or assemblies.
  • Install HVAC equipment, pipe, and assemblies.
  • Perform skilled tasks related to fabrication, layout, installation, repair, or maintenance of piping systems and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with general contractors and other trades.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
  • Provide instruction, training, and guidance to trainees or apprentices to promote safe work practices and skill development.
  • Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in an organized, safe, and serviceable condition.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of HVAC Piping experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project documents.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and applicable codes.
  • Proficient in trade math.
  • Proficient in the safe and proper use of hand and power tools.
  • Strong understanding of job site safety standards and commitment to following all company safety policies.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and clients.
  • Understand multiple types of piping systems and connection methods (Steel, copper, HDPE, PPR, etc.).
  • Knowledge of DX piping is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Pipe Welding, an ASME qualification is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • OSHA 10.

  • This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
