Job Description

Overview

The Welder-Compactor/Container Repair position involves performing preventive maintenance, fabrication welding, refurbishing refuse containers and compactors, and ensuring accurate repair and replacement of components in a safe and compliant manner.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs on all sizes and types of containers and compactors including road repair.
  • Perform inspections on all welding and cutting equipment to ensure safe operating procedures.
  • Maintain inventory record keeping and assure adequate material to complete all assigned work efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area to ensure compliance with company and OSHA requirements.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections, diagnostic and repair of electrical and hydraulic systems on compactors.
  • Assist senior welders in the completion of project work.
  • Participate in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Equipment maintenance and repair experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in the US.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven commitment to work and dedication to safety.
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • Self-directed individual.
