Overview

This position offers individuals the opportunity to learn welding and fabrication while working as a welder's helper in a small, busy, and growing company that specializes in the fabrication and installation of miscellaneous metals. The company has been in business for over 20 years and aims to develop employees into skilled welders within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Train in all facets of fabrication including welding.
  • Learn to fabricate through cutting, layout, fitting/tacking, CNC equipment operation, and grinding.
  • Advance toward welding positions by demonstrating enthusiasm and effort to improve.
  • Perform basic welding tasks within the first 3-6 months.

Requirements

  • Must have some basic hands-on experience using hand tools.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Capable of handling basic power tools such as a grinder.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work and job sites.
  • Willingness to consent to a pre-hire background check.

Additional Information

  • Pay for this position is $15/hour with potential for advancement as skills grow.
  • Standard work hours are Monday-Thursday from 6am to 4:30pm.
  • Overtime is available currently.
  • Located in the Spring Branch area of Houston, zip code 77080.
  • Job sites include the greater Houston area and possible further travel occasionally.
