Overview

Simpson Strong-Tie is a leader in engineered structural connectors, software, and solutions for the building industry, committed to providing solutions that help people design and build safer, stronger structures. As a 2nd shift Welder, you will be involved in the final step of the fabrication process, producing parts per drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform set-ups on welding machines, manual and robot welding, and weld parts for both customer specials and stock products under supervision.
  • Document inspections as necessary to assure product quality.
  • Develop welding projects, analyze work orders, prints, and completed assembly; calculate requirements; study metals; and determine appropriate welding techniques.

Requirements

  • Welding program graduate or equivalent experience; AWS certification a plus.
  • Simpson’s welding certification required upon hire.
  • 1-2 years of welding experience preferred.
  • Must be able to wear PPE for extended periods.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
  • Consistently prioritize safety and demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Apply customer service principles and processes on the job.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Read and understand blueprints, production drawings, and diagrams.
  • Follow written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Able to read a tape measure to 1/32” tolerance and use combination squares to measure angles to +/- 1 degree.

  • Shift hours are 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Position requires domestic travel up to 5% of the time.
  • Full-time, non-exempt position located in Riverside CA.
  • Relocation is not available for this position.
