Overview

Anderson Trucking Service is seeking a 2nd Shift Trailer Technician to provide quality maintenance on their fleet of over-the-road trucks and trailers. The position offers stability, competitive pay, and comprehensive training opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections on incoming and outgoing company-owned trailers.
  • Complete DOT inspections to verify necessary repairs.
  • Ensure safety procedures and PPE usage at all times.
  • Move tractors and trailers in and out of the shop for maintenance.
  • Inspect and perform all minor and major trailer maintenance.
  • Weld metal to repair or fabricate parts.
  • Open repair orders and charge out all parts used.
  • Participate in online OEM training.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Perform shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Two year AAS Degree in medium/heavy truck diesel program and/or 1 to 3 years of equivalent experience.
  • Good working knowledge of DOT regulations and out of service parameters.
  • Good working knowledge of trailer maintenance and diagnostic software.
  • A valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.
  • Must be DOT certified and forklift certified within 90 days of hire.
  • Good communication skills (written, verbal, listening).
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read installation manuals and understand manufacturer training.
