Overview

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever, focusing on emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles and attracting curious, courageous individuals. The company seeks a highly skilled Electronics Rework & Prototype Assembly Specialist to bridge the gap between engineering and production through precision electro-mechanical assemblies and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Construct initial electro-mechanical prototype assemblies and execute precise PCBA rework.
  • Perform detailed visual inspections of PCBAs, solder joints, and mechanical alignments.
  • Build, rework, and integrate complex electrical wire harnesses.
  • Assist engineers in diagnosing and troubleshooting circuit failures.
  • Utilize mechanical measuring equipment to verify build dimensions and tolerances.
  • Support engineering during New Product Introduction and design transitions.
  • Accurately log assembly results, design deviations, and rework details.

Requirements

  • College degree in Electronics combined with 2 years of recent, hands-on relevant experience OR 5+ years of hands-on relevant experience.
  • Active J-STD-001 IPC Class 3 Solder Certification for Electronic Assembly.
  • Basic working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620C standards.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge protocols and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with standard shop fabrication, assembly, and hand/power tools.
  • Proficiency in interpreting complex mechanical drawings and electrical schematics preferred.
  • Experience utilizing documentation and task management tools preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative mindset preferred.

Additional Information

  • The salary range for this role is USD 33.31/hr - 41.63/hr for Southern California based applicants.
  • The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
  • Full-time employee coverage is effective on their first day of employment.
  • Part-time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
