Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic I position at TOPPAN Packaging Americas involves maintaining and repairing production and facility equipment in a collaborative culture. The role requires working night shifts on a rotating schedule in Franklin Park, IL, with potential overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Support and/or lead safety initiatives for the department and/or plant.
  • Perform safety audits and training.
  • Maintain and repair production equipment as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Maintain and repair utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel with repairs as needed.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel with tooling changes and setup.
  • Manage small projects to maintain or upgrade equipment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in an industrial environment, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or installing manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with pneumatic and/or hydraulic equipment, and rotating equipment.
  • Experience in extrusion, injection molding, or thermoforming manufacturing operations preferred.
  • Experience with machine shop equipment and welding.
  • Electrical or controls experience a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects/responsibilities at the same time.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Able to read prints.
  • Proficient with typical business software, including Microsoft Office.
