Overview

Batchelor & Kimball is a leading mechanical contractor serving the Southeast and Midwest, offering design/build and turnkey construction services. They are looking for a Journeyman Pipefitter who is experienced in construction and can thrive in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate and install piping efficiently.
  • Align, bolt, and clamp together components of fabricated metal products for welding.
  • Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications.
  • Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation.
  • Distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials.
  • Manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment.
  • Operate tools and equipment including beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and a Sawzall.
  • Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
  • Hydro test piping systems.
  • Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities for work activities.
  • Inspect work for compliance with contract plans and specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field or related area.
  • Strong working knowledge skills and abilities for the position.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, and layout tools.

Additional Information

  • Able to work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft).
  • Expected to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required.
