Overview

The Mechanical Design Engineer will create conceptual designs and perform calculations and analysis to optimize design and materials. The role requires experience in mechanical systems, particularly in fluids and thermal dynamics, and proficiency in SolidWorks CAD.

Responsibilities

  • Create conceptual designs.
  • Perform calculations and simple analysis of design and materials to optimize design.
  • Work with suppliers and generate component specifications.
  • Engage in product development and prototyping.
  • Address interior modification retrofitting and design changes at the aircraft level.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments such as manufacturing, assembly, integration, qualification, and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience in mechanical systems, particularly fluids and thermal dynamics analysis.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks CAD for modeling, assembly, drawings, and layout.
  • Experience working in a product development environment.
  • Familiarity with FDA/FAA requirements.
  • Experience in the aerospace interior domain.
  • Experience in new product design and redesign.
  • Ability to create 3D models and drawings.
