Job Description

Overview

As a Laser Field Service Technician, you will utilize customer communication skills, and mechanical and electrical knowledge to repair, troubleshoot, modify, and test complex technical problems on Mitsubishi Machining products. This position involves travel primarily throughout the US, with some international travel, and focuses on providing on-site services at customer facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer locations to diagnose complex technical problems and perform on-site repair
  • Examine machines mechanically and electrically to perform repairs by dismantling machines and rebuilding as needed
  • Diagnose technical problems and troubleshoot via telephone
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with customers
  • Effectively interpret schematics and block diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problems
  • Document in detail product problems and resolutions
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to use basic hand-tools
  • Ability to operate a computer with Windows operating systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working with heights
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Associates or technical degree preferred
  • Experience with electrical measurement and inspection techniques
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems
  • Experience in mechanical measurement and inspection techniques

Additional Information

  • Job operates mainly indoors but may be exposed to changing weather conditions
  • Position generally involves a lot of driving and overtime work
