Overview

Texas Instruments is seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to support engineering and maintenance activities related to the facility's mechanical, chemical, and electrical systems, as well as the installation of semiconductor manufacturing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned water system performance and reliability; monitor system health using SCADA data and trend analysis.
  • Perform routine water sampling, lab tests, and chemical dosing for pH, conductivity, silica, chlorine, and microbiological control.
  • Monitor and trend water quality parameters; respond rapidly to excursions with containment actions and diagnostics.
  • Execute CM/PMs on water treatment equipment, filters, softeners, chemical feed systems, pumps, and valves.
  • Perform rapid diagnostics and lead technical response to system issues; help drive corrective actions through root cause analysis.
  • Support system troubleshooting, cleaning, and sanitation activities.
  • Coordinate with Central Engineering for technical support when needed; escalate appropriately.
  • Maintain logs, SPC charts, and compliance documentation per SOPs; keep records and SOP updates current and accurate.
  • Manage, review, and approve water system-based permits; ensure all work meets safety, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Create ECNs, Event Manager, and FMS tickets to document CM/PMs and system changes.
  • Own system events at the site level and manage follow-up actions; support root cause analysis documentation.
  • Coordinate delivery of support materials and equipment; manage and coordinate contractors and TI support for critical systems.
  • Monitor system costs and help with forecasting; may participate in contract and procurement processes.
  • Mentor assigned System Technicians; share knowledge and help develop team capability.
  • Ensure EHS compliance, proper chemical handling, and PPE requirements across all activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate in water treatment or facilities maintenance preferred.
  • 7 years of experience in industrial water treatment, facilities utilities, or related manufacturing support.
  • 10 years of experience in industrial water treatment, facilities utilities, or related manufacturing support preferred.
  • Mechanical skill proficiency.
  • Knowledge of IWW, DI/RO, cooling tower chemistry, basic water analysis methods, and SCADA systems.
  • Ability to read P&IDs, follow SOPs, and perform basic mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated proactive problem-solving and attention to detail with strong record-keeping habits.
  • Ability to mentor others and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-starter requiring little direction to identify and solve problems.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to interface professionally and effectively with all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
