Overview

The Lead Datacenter Cable Technician position involves leading a crew in the installation and testing of cabling systems, specifically fiber optics. This is a traveling role based out of Atlanta, GA, with a focus on project management and adherence to safety and quality guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead major project crews and provide necessary training.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality guidelines and hold weekly safety meetings.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure productivity and compliance with project budget.
  • Complete all internal and project paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Perform quality checks and prepare red-lined as-built drawings.
  • Serve as the main on-site customer contact for questions and concerns.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven success leading a crew of 5.
  • Experience with fiber handling, termination, and testing.
  • Skills in cable pulling, punchdown, and working with Cat6 and Cat5.
  • Strong technical knowledge in cabling installation and testing.

  • $50/day Per Diem for food.
