Job Description

Overview

The Machine Tool Repair Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining mechanical and hydraulic components of production machines and equipment, including metal fabricating machine tools and automated lubrication systems.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain mechanical and hydraulic components of production machines.
  • Work with precision machines such as conveyors, lathes, mills, grinders, and saws.
  • Use precision leveling and alignment tools to measure angles and material thickness.
  • Fit bearings, align gears and wheels, and attach motors according to blueprints.
  • Assist with dismantling machines using hand tools.
  • Fabricate and install parts on equipment by measuring, cutting, and drilling.
  • Assist with unloading, inspecting, and moving equipment using cranes and hoists.
  • Use rigging and hoisting devices to move equipment and materials.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on various machines and systems.
  • Operate mobile equipment such as fork trucks and man-lifts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of Lathe, Mills, Cut Off Saw, and Drill Press equipment.
  • Experience with machining, hydraulics, and pneumatics is a plus.
  • Ability to read and fabricate parts from blueprints and ISO drawings.
  • Ability to align a pump and motor within 5 thousandths of an inch.
  • Willingness to work shift work and various shifts.
