Overview

Manufacturing Operations is seeking an Experienced Maintenance Machinist for the El Segundo, California Refinery. This role involves performing maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and construction work in both field and shop settings, requiring journey-level skills and collaboration with various teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair steam and mechanical drive systems such as steam turbines and electric motors.
• Maintain and repair process equipment such as valves, pumps, and compressors.
• Safely and effectively utilize hand, power, and precision tools.
• Perform troubleshooting, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on all types of machinery.
• Disassemble, repair, assemble, and install equipment and machinery as required.
• Read mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Work in Process Plant, Shop, and Off-Plot environments.
• Work independently or as part of a team and plan and organize own work.
• Use resources safely and economically.
• Identify and act on opportunities to increase competencies and reduce costs.
• Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe work practices and maintain a commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations.
• Drive on a routine basis.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• A minimum of 3 years experience as a Millwright in the refining or petrochemical industries.
• Ability to use computers to enter work histories and perform corporate compliance activities.
• Willing to work a 4x10 dayshift schedule with occasional shifts and weekend work.
• Willing to work overtime, holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Willing to be on call and meet call-out standards.
• Willing to work outside in inclement weather.
• Willing to work in compact and confined spaces.
• Willing to climb ladders and work at heights.
