Overview

For over four decades, Big Top has manufactured and installed high-performance fabric structures in the United States, delivering American-made quality, innovation, and reliability. This position involves welding in a production environment, focusing on achieving production objectives while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all parts are produced on time and are of good quality.
  • Read sketches and build products accordingly.
  • Check pieces in process against sketches.
  • Apply the correct type and quality of weld as directed.
  • Minimize material waste.
  • Care for and perform preventive maintenance on equipment in use.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report violations, accidents, and near misses to supervisor.
  • Assist in training new personnel on safety, production, and quality standards.
  • Follow instructions given by supervisor.
  • Maintain housekeeping in your area and the entire facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two years welding experience or graduation from a certified welding program preferred.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Team player.
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to use cutting torch, grinder, saws, speed square, level, and framing square.
  • Ability to read a tape measure to the 1/16".
  • Must successfully complete Big Top welding test.
  • Ability to follow company safety procedures and processes.

Additional Information

  • Normal work hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am - 5:00 pm.
  • Overtime is required as needed to support production goals.
  • Temperature of work environment ranges from 15 - 110F.
  • Located in Perry, Florida, about 50 miles outside of Tallahassee.
