Overview

GreenWood, Inc. is actively recruiting for a Metal Fabricator/Millwright position at the Mitsubishi site in Greer, SC. This is a Regular Full-Time, Non-Exempt role with a focus on fabricating and installing metal components in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, drawings, work orders, and sketches to fabricate and install products or parts.
• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment.
• Perform industrial fabrication work using carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Inspect, assemble, and smooth seams and joints of burred surfaces.
• Set up machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
• Measure, cut, and shape metal materials according to design.
• Use specialized tools and equipment for cutting and shaping metals.
• Rig machinery and equipment in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Check all structure components prior to installation to prevent damage.
• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Assemble metal components by welding, using rivets, screws, and other fasteners.
• Inspect final products for quality and adherence to specified design.
• Dismantle machines using hand tools.
• Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Assemble and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails.
• Maintain tools and equipment.
• Conduct process inspection, certification, and documentation.

Requirements

• Participate in daily toolbox talks.
• Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed.
• Four (4) years of experience in metal fabrication.
• Ability to perform various types of welding.
• Extensive knowledge of structural and sheet metal repairs and modifications.
• Ability to make sketches to fabricate miscellaneous parts and make repairs.
• Ability to rig machinery and equipment to OSHA standards.
• Ability to detect errors and correct through proper channels.
• Thorough working knowledge of blueprints.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency.
• Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrates a high level of customer service and strong communication skills.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines with minimal supervision.
• Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Additional Information

• Employees normally work Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm, 40 hours per week.
• Position does not require travel and does not offer per diem.
