Overview

Modine has been addressing thermal management challenges for over 100 years, focusing on engineering solutions for cleaner and healthier environments. The company is seeking a skilled Brazer to join its manufacturing team to produce high-quality chillers for data centers, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of cooling systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform brazing and soldering of copper, brass, and other metal components in the fabrication of chiller assemblies.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure proper assembly.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate brazing torches and related equipment to achieve strong, leak-proof joints.
  • Inspect joints for quality assurance, ensuring all work meets company and industry standards.
  • Work closely with welders, assemblers, and quality control teams to maintain production efficiency and accuracy.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including the proper handling of torches, gases, and other hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Identify and report any defects, material shortages, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or maintenance team.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of brazing/welding experience in a manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in using oxy-acetylene torches and other brazing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions (standing, bending, kneeling, etc.) for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, including proper handling of gases and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in brazing or welding preferred.
