Overview

Johns Manville is a leading manufacturer of insulation and roofing products, seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for their Penbryn, NJ facility. The role involves performing maintenance and repair work on machinery and equipment in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the safety process and practice safe work habits.
• Perform mechanical preventative maintenance on all equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment to identify issues and take corrective actions.
• Maintain open communication with coworkers and supervisors.
• Read and interpret blueprints and sketches for job completion.
• Complete work orders, requisitions, and inspection reports.
• Direct and assist other workers as needed.
• Inspect and maintain plant buildings and structures.
• Operate, maintain, inspect, and repair all plant systems.
• Serve as a member of the emergency response team.
• Perform water treatment and fire protection equipment tests.
• Work with other maintenance employees during emergencies.
• Complete monthly training as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical or vocational degree or certification preferred.
• Mechanical journeyman certification or 5+ years of experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, power transmission, welding, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic math operations.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Experience with machine safety topics.
• Ability to operate lift trucks and obtain necessary licenses.
• Ability to work all shifts including rotating 12-hour shifts.
