Overview

As a Shop Mechanic 1 within the Power Technique business area at Atlas Copco Rental, you will support the Specialty Rental Division by maintaining, assembling, and repairing industrial equipment and machinery. This role emphasizes precision and quality to ensure operational safety and compliance with engineering standards.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately install, inspect, and maintain complex piping assemblies.
  • Apply knowledge of fasteners to assemble equipment parts securely.
  • Operate and maintain a range of hand and power tools.
  • Adhere to OSHA protocols and participate in safety initiatives.
  • Obtain and maintain certifications for operating material handling equipment.
  • Read blueprints and schematic diagrams for assembly and maintenance.
  • Keep meticulous records of maintenance actions and repairs.
  • Manage tasks independently and communicate progress with supervisors.
  • Utilize basic welding methods to enhance repair quality.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean workspace.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school completion is advantageous.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in mechanical, industrial maintenance, welding, or piping roles.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing machinery.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Strong dedication to safety standards and familiarity with OSHA regulations.
  • Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and mobile equipment operation.
  • Self-driven, punctual, and dependable with teamwork skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues.
  • Commitment to continual professional development.
  • Physically capable of handling workshop demands including lifting up to 50 pounds.
