Overview

The Plumber position at Abington Memorial Hospital involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of various plumbing systems and fixtures. Jefferson Health, the employer, is committed to providing high-quality healthcare and education.

Responsibilities

  • Install and repair pipes and fixtures for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids.
  • Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.
  • Perform inspections on interceptors, separators, and acid neutralizers.
  • Replace faucets and plumbing fixtures; install new piping from ½ inch to 8 inch.
  • Perform snake drainage.
  • Test backflow devices and install hot water tanks.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair Fire Protection Systems.
  • Read and work from blueprints and sketches to complete workload efficiently.
  • Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by the supervisor or lead.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Plumber (or equivalent) certification.
  • Understanding of electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.
  • High School Diploma, Vocational School or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of plumbing program from technical school with courses in blueprint reading, sheet metal work, mechanical drawing, electrical wiring, and plumbing.
  • State Plumbing License preferred.
