Overview

Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, with over 20,000 employees. They are seeking a Pipe Welder for a position in Kingsport, TN, responsible for laying out, fitting, and welding components to assemble structural forms.

Responsibilities

  • Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
  • Bolts, clamps, and tacks parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Sets up equipment and welds parts.
  • May assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
  • May weld pipe such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and chrome.
  • May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • May use cutting torch to cut materials and demo existing assemblies.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent.
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in specified skill.
  • Must be able to pass a weld test before being hired.
  • Must be certified as a welder.
  • Post offer drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
  • Comply with company and client job site safety requirements.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
