Overview

The Industrial Piping Fabrication Technician role involves interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to assemble structural and piping components with precision. The technician will work in an industrial setting, ensuring safety and quality in fabrication tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan layouts and assembly sequences.
  • Lay out, position, and fit structural and piping components for accurate alignment and fit-up.
  • Work confidently with fitting tools such as bull pins and turnbuckles.
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances; confirm alignment and fit before weld-out.
  • Perform welding and assist with welding-related operations as needed.
  • Inspect fit-up and make corrective adjustments prior to welding or final assembly.
  • Safely handle, move, and position heavy materials and structural components.
  • Follow established safety procedures and keep the work area clean and orderly.
  • Support additional fitting, fabrication, and related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience as a pipefitter, structural fitter, millwright, or boilermaker.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proven background in fit-up and structural assembly.
  • Welding experience.
  • Proficiency with common fitting and fabrication hand and power tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude with precise measuring, aligning, and fitting skills.
  • Ability to work safely with heavy materials and equipment.
  • High attention to detail and dedication to quality workmanship.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Comfort working in an industrial setting and performing physically demanding tasks.
