Overview

Singularity Defense is a stealth startup based in El Segundo, CA, founded by former SpaceX, Anduril, and Lockheed employees, focusing on mass-producing air defense systems. They are seeking a Field Testing Technician to support product testing and field operations, ensuring campaigns are conducted safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, preparation, setup, execution, and teardown of product test campaigns and field operations.
• Assemble, install, configure, and operate test equipment, support equipment, instrumentation, and company hardware according to test plans.
• Perform pre-test inspections, functional checks, and equipment readiness verification.
• Assist engineers and test leads with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues during tests.
• Operate and maintain field support equipment, hand tools, power tools, and other specialized equipment.
• Support the loading, transportation, staging, inventory, and accountability of test articles and equipment.
• Execute test procedures and checklists accurately while maintaining clear records of test activities.
• Identify equipment deficiencies and coordinate repairs or corrective actions.
• Maintain test equipment, vehicles, tools, and field support assets in a safe condition.
• Assist with site preparation and logistical activities for temporary field test locations.
• Follow safety procedures and actively identify and communicate potential hazards.
• Work effectively with engineering teams in evolving situations.
• Provide feedback to improve hardware reliability and test procedures.
• Support multiple test and development programs as company priorities require.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a hands-on technical role involving testing, maintenance, assembly, integration, or field operations.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks or equivalent software.
• Experience with additive manufacturing processes, including FDM, SLA, and powder-bed fusion.
• Experience designing, building, and operating test rigs and fixtures for testing.
• Ability to follow technical procedures, checklists, and engineering instructions.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with hardware systems.
• Comfortable working independently in dynamic environments with limited supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly to test sites and work extended hours.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in remote field environments.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, position, and secure equipment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate company vehicles.
