Overview

As a Cox Automotive business, Cox Fleet delivers integrated uptime solutions designed to reduce downtime and improve fleet performance. The Sr. Mobile Trailer Technician & Welder role involves performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on various vehicles while working independently in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on trailers and equipment.
  • Weld trailers and fabricate lift gates in a mobile environment.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of trailer equipment and systems.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, and welding equipment.
  • Document work performed and findings using company-issued devices.
  • Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Manage parts inventory and equipment on the service truck.
  • Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and customers.
  • Respond to call center dispatched unscheduled service requests.
  • Diagnose and perform repairs on various types of trailer equipment and systems.
  • Assist Mobile Trailer Technicians I & II with diagnostics and inventory reconciliation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' experience in a related field.
  • Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
  • Valid welding certification required.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of trailer equipment and systems.
  • OEM training and certifications are preferred.
  • Must complete DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
  • Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Additional Information

  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday Day Shift
  • New Hire Bonus: $5,000 New Hire Bonus, 50% after 30 days and 50% after 180 days
