Overview

Chart Industries is focused on the design and fabrication of cryogenic equipment, providing solutions across various industries including hydrogen, carbon capture, water treatment, and food and beverage. The TIG Welder position is a day shift role that requires performing complex welding activities and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform moderate to complex welding activities, including hand welding and material handling equipment.
  • Weld metal parts on fixtures, attaching jigs and clamps to hold metal parts in proper position.
  • Determine type and gauge of steel to be welded and make appropriate heat adjustments.
  • Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels.
  • Update and maintain all required documentation associated with job responsibilities.
  • Assume responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work area and general housekeeping standards.
  • Understand and practice established safety and quality standard procedures.
  • Perform all tasks to ISO standards and requirements.
  • May be required to perform mass spec and visual inspections.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of TIG welding experience.
  • Must pass 3G vertical weld test and other weld tests as required.
  • Experience interpreting blueprints and bill of materials (BOM).
  • Basic math skills including weight measurement, volume, distance, multiplication and division.
  • Self-starter capable of managing workload under minimal direction.
  • Must be able to measure accurately using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Overtime and weekend hours may be required.
