Overview

Chart Industries is focused on the design and fabrication of cryogenic equipment, contributing to various industries including sustainability, water treatment, and food and beverage. The TIG Welder position is a NIGHT shift role responsible for performing welding activities and ensuring quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform moderate to complex welding activities.
  • Weld metal parts on fixtures using jigs and clamps.
  • Determine type and gauge of steel to be welded and adjust heat as required.
  • Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerances.
  • Update and maintain all required documentation.
  • Assume responsibility for assigned tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work area and adhere to housekeeping standards.
  • Understand and practice established safety and quality procedures.
  • Perform tasks to ISO standards and requirements.
  • Conduct mass spec and visual inspections as needed.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of TIG welding experience.
  • Must pass 3G vertical weld test and other relevant weld tests.
  • Experience interpreting blueprints and bill of materials (BOM).
  • Basic math skills including weight measurement and volume.
  • Self-starter capable of managing workload with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to measure accurately using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
