Overview

The Welder/Fabricator position at IES Infrastructure Solutions involves fabricating and welding steel structures and components according to customer specifications. The role is based in Manitowoc, WI, and includes responsibilities related to fitting and training.

Responsibilities

  • Read weld symbols and correctly fit parts from blueprints
  • Support team leaders by monitoring and reporting information regarding projects, processes, and problems
  • Assist with the estimation process by providing input on processes and labor requirements
  • Participate in customer or potential customer visits
  • Use blueprints, tape measure, and mathematical skills
  • Inspect parts prior to fit and ensure proper alignment
  • Ensure orientation of parts is correct
  • Visually inspect parts prior to fitting to ensure proper conformance
  • Visually inspect joints for cleanliness and depth
  • Fit parts while keeping within specification
  • Weld flat and horizontal GMAW
  • Weld flat horizontal and vertical flux core
  • Clean parts after welding
  • Operate overhead crane and properly inspect rigging equipment
  • Complete operator sign-off
  • Record job and section in time matrix
  • Follow all EHS policies to work safely and engage in behavioral based safety initiatives
  • Support all continuous improvement initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
