Job Description

Overview

The Structural Welder II position offers a starting pay of $24.50 to $30.00 per hour, with potential bonuses and relocation assistance. Candidates will perform welding tasks using various techniques and must meet specific qualifications and certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Weld structural and carbon steel in 3G, 4G, and 2F fillet weld using FCAW, GMAW, and GMAW-spray.
  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits including forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Have advanced knowledge of layout, positioning, aligning, and securing parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
  • Examine work pieces for defects and measure with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
  • Consistently pass non-destructive examinations of FCAW welds on required products.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.
  • Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
  • Certification or degree in welding from a technical school program strongly preferred.
  • Two to five years of welding experience is strongly preferred.
  • Meets all Structural Welder I requirements on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to pass Roeslein’s welding certifications for structural is required.
  • Must be able to consistently execute high quality FCAW, GMAW, GMAW-spray welds.
  • Ability to read blueprints at an intermediate level is required.
  • Strong math skills are required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • High level of energy and motivation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including frequent and mandatory overtime.
  • Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel in a team environment.
  • Must comply with Roeslein’s core values for the safe and efficient operation of the business.

  • Sign-On and Relocation Bonus Available.
  • Candidates relocating from more than 50 miles from Red Bud, IL facility are eligible for a $5,000 relocation bonus.
  • Annual review with opportunity for pay increase based on performance.
