Overview

Thornton Tomasetti is an independent organization that applies engineering and scientific principles to solve global challenges. As a Structural Engineer in their Restoration & Renewal Practice, you will assess existing structures and design innovative solutions for repairs and renovations in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in site inspections, condition assessments, and construction observation involving various structural materials.
  • Conduct structural analyses, diagnostic evaluations, and structural design for existing buildings.
  • Prepare clear, detailed reports and drawings.
  • Learn and apply best practices in repair, reinforcement, and renovation strategies.
  • Coordinate and communicate with in-house staff, consultants, and contractors.
  • Build a professional network and develop leadership behaviors.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Prior internships or practical exposure to structural engineering is a plus.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis tools and BIM software.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Detail-oriented approach and ability to apply engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to travel to and work on site at various project locations.
