Overview
Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases is a leading provider of solutions for the liquefied natural gas and industrial gases industries. They are seeking an experienced Welder II to work on alternative fuel station projects, which include installation of storage vessels and high-pressure systems.
Responsibilities
- Install stainless tube (1/4" – 3/4")
- Install stainless and carbon steel threaded pipe (1/2" - 2")
- Weld stainless and carbon steel pipe per ASME B31.3
- Install pipe supports and process skids
- Perform GTAW and GMAW in 6G position
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
- Set up components for welding according to specifications
- Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding
- Align components using calipers and rulers and clamp pieces
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Requirements
- Graduate of high school or GED
- Trade school and welding certificate preferred
- Satisfy pre-employment and random drug screening tests
- 5 + years of welding experience, preferably in stainless steel and carbon steel piping/pressure vessels
- Ability to pass NDT on weld performed in 6G position
- Complete understanding of blueprints and ability to work from written and verbal instruction
- Demonstrated ability to perform the job in a highly capable manner with minimum supervision
- Thorough experience using a wide variety of hand tools and capable of fitting and setting up details required for fabricated assemblies
- Knowledge of basic computer operation
