Overview
The Operator is responsible for manufacturing parts according to specifications using manual and semi-automatic machines. The role involves operating production machines, performing close tolerance work, and ensuring quality through inspections.
Responsibilities
- Observe and follow safety rules and wear required PPE.
- Complete work based on time studies in accordance with schedule.
- Operate all necessary equipment proficiently.
- Adjust manual, semi-automatic, or automatic machines for operations.
- Perform close tolerance work with dimensional and finish requirements.
- Check work at specified points and adjust machines as needed.
- Work from part drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
- Recognize and report machine malfunctions and tooling difficulties.
- Assist with setups or proving of programs as needed.
- Meet with engineers to discuss potential machine problems.
- Maintain a clean work area.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, additional training from trade school preferred.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- General knowledge of tooling applications.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings.
- Mathematical skills for basic calculations and metric conversions.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
