Job Description

Overview

The Operator is responsible for manufacturing parts according to specifications using manual and semi-automatic machines. The role involves operating production machines, performing close tolerance work, and ensuring quality through inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and follow safety rules and wear required PPE.
  • Complete work based on time studies in accordance with schedule.
  • Operate all necessary equipment proficiently.
  • Adjust manual, semi-automatic, or automatic machines for operations.
  • Perform close tolerance work with dimensional and finish requirements.
  • Check work at specified points and adjust machines as needed.
  • Work from part drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
  • Recognize and report machine malfunctions and tooling difficulties.
  • Assist with setups or proving of programs as needed.
  • Meet with engineers to discuss potential machine problems.
  • Maintain a clean work area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, additional training from trade school preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • General knowledge of tooling applications.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings.
  • Mathematical skills for basic calculations and metric conversions.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
