Overview

The Maintenance Tech II role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment with a focus on production and quality. The position requires minimal supervision and includes mentoring junior technicians while ensuring all work is documented accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and ad-hoc repairs on assigned equipment.
• Troubleshoot and correct issues with out of service equipment, acting as an escalation point for lower level technicians.
• Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and maintain accurate records of operating logs.
• Mentor maintenance personnel in developing appropriate skillsets and knowledge of equipment.
• Assist maintenance mechanics in tasks requiring two people or during operational needs.
• Perform facility/building project work including repairs and installations.
• Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and analyze production delays.
• Certify on all industrial lift equipment and oversee assigned projects.
• Inspect and monitor routine maintenance provided by junior engineers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience with conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment repair and maintenance.
• Associates Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or equivalent preferred.
• Graduate of an apprenticeship program or hold current trade certification preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment.
• Basic skill level in multiple computer software packages including Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes.
• Ability to learn new equipment as it is brought on-line.
• Physical ability to perform essential functions of the position.

Additional Information

• Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours for up to 6 days a week.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
• Willingness to operate material handling equipment.
