Overview

MOR PPM Inc. is a leading provider of industrial mechanical, electrical, and civil construction services, seeking plant mechanics in Dallas, TX. The role involves installing and maintaining machinery and equipment in industrial settings, with a preference for candidates with Tappisafe Basic certification.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantle machines and move machinery and equipment.
  • Assemble and install machines, then test them to ensure proper functionality.
  • Comply with approved safety regulations.
  • Manage layout and placement of equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Identify and repair problematic machine parts through testing and repairs.
  • Dismantle older machines and replace them with new ones.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues.
  • Use machinery, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts.
  • Assemble and install equipment like shafting, conveyors, pumps, and compressors.
  • Align machines using reverse alignment methods.
  • May operate engine lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts.
  • Perform repairs and lubrication on machines and equipment.
  • May be involved in grouting activity for equipment base plates.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Requirements

  • Preferred: 4 years work experience as an industrial plant mechanic or completion of a related curriculum from a vocational institution with 2 years’ experience.
  • Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign.
  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess enough strength and stamina for technical duties.
  • Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
  • Must have a full range of motion consistent with age.
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders.
  • Must be able to hear and respond to voice commands and alarms.
  • Visual acuity, depth perception, and color discrimination required for working at heights and on uneven surfaces.
  • Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
