Overview

We are looking for a Welder to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location, where you will perform a variety of metal-joining operations on assemblies, subassemblies, and components using established manufacturing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Receive job assignments at workstation with work instructions, drawings, sketches, and other necessary information.
  • Examine instructions, noting specifications and requirements.
  • Obtain all necessary fixtures, tools, and related equipment.
  • Prepare surfaces, assemble, and position parts as required to be welded.
  • Set up required welding or brazing equipment and check process specifications.
  • Remove slag, chip, and grind visible defects before depositing subsequent passes.
  • Document metal joining sequences as required.
  • Perform chipping, grinding, hand burning, air-arc, or torch operations as required.
  • Grind and prepare weld surfaces for penetrant test and perform penetrant test.
  • Operate ovens for pre-heating requirements and monitor ovens for stress relief or heat treatment processes.
  • Handle parts and material as required and operate cranes, hoists, etc., to position or transport heavy loads.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workplace and protect all equipment.
  • Observe all safety and hygiene requirements as specified and directed.
  • Maintain machine cleanliness, lubrication, and fluid levels, and perform simple machine error recovery.
  • Edit programs, prove out programs, and utilize conversational and/or teach modes.
