Overview

At Okland, a commercial general contractor and construction management company, the Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Quality Control Manager will develop and lead quality control programs for welding and fabrication to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) programs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Lead quality initiatives promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee inspection and verification activities for high-purity and ultra-high-purity process systems.
  • Develop quality control processes for thermoplastic piping systems.
  • Conduct inspections of welding, fusion, fabrication, and installation activities.
  • Monitor fabrication and installation activities for adherence to approved procedures.
  • Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and associated quality documentation.
  • Maintain complete and accurate quality records and documentation.
  • Coordinate and oversee Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) and system turnover inspections.
  • Lead the identification and resolution of non-conformances and quality issues.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate quality requirements throughout project execution.

Requirements

  • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field preferred.
  • 7–10 years of quality control, quality assurance, or welding inspection experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Experience inspecting stainless steel process piping systems and thermoplastic piping systems.
  • Knowledge of thermoplastic fusion processes and quality control requirements.
  • Experience reviewing and managing WPS, PQRs, and material traceability documentation.
  • Familiarity with NDE methods and testing requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proven leadership experience in mentoring quality personnel.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
